A heavy clashes enrupted between Somali troops and Al-Shabaab fighters in the southren Somali region, Lower Shabelle, KNN reports on Sunday. The clashes late last night around Mareerey village caused casualties on both sides. It is not yet clear how many people have been killed in the fighting. But sides claimed victory over one another.

Aid workers attacked with roadside bomb near Mogadishu.

A roadside bomb hits a convoy carrying aid workers outside the capital city of Mogadishu causing no casualties, KNN reports on Wednesday. UAE nationals among the targeted members according to Somali police. Al-Shabaab is likely behind the attack. The aid workers left Mogadishu for helping and visiting drought displaced families who are resettled on the outskirts of the capital.

At least four people are said to be dead of hunger in the Somalia’s Hiiraan region, KNN reports on Tuesday. Somali government officials in the town of Beledwayne  said that four people dead of hunger within the last 24 hours.
