Somalia’s Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire on Sunday strongly condemned the Friday’s airstrike that killed at least 42 Somali refugees in Yemen by suspected Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi militants, KNN reports.
Mr.Khaire called a swift investigation into the matter to find the perpetrators. He shared his sadness over the matter with the families and friends of the victims.
“They were unarmed civilians….and were massacred mercilessly…. We cannot accept such horrors against our weak refugees living anywhere in the world” said the Prime Minister.
42 Somali refugees were killed off the coast of Yemen when a helicopter attacked the boat they were travelling in, a coastguard in the Houthi-controlled Hudaydah area.
Boat carrying refugees was travelling to Sudan when it was hit by airstrike from Apache helicopter.
